We had a great dive with Michelle. It was like diving with an old friend - she made my teenage son (who was newly certified) feel very comfortable and ensured that he had a good time.
Everyone at the shop was nice, low-key, and I would definitely book a dive with them again (and especially with Michelle!)
Jay, Thank you so much for such a great introductory dive in Wailea. When we got back home we finished our PADI dive class and became certified divers. We are going to Kona in January on a liveaboard to swim with the mantas at night.

Just got back home from our longhaul flight back to switzerland and a little sad feeling, since we`re not in Maui anymore where we passed a wonderful month of July for vacation.
I sincerely wanted to say thanks again for the great dive intro Jay and Jim gave our boys and me in Wailea. It was for sure one of the greatest adventures of their lifes so far. They were totally impressed about what they did experience under water that day.
And last but not least, Jim and Jay were simply great, very professional and dedicated, very cool with a great sense of humour and very trustworthy. I will certainly mention always your company if asked where to dive in Maui and with whom!!
Have a great time in Maui, kind regards from Switzerland where we also have 29°C now at 1900h local time. Finally summer came in...

Jay was my divemaster for four dives July 2 and 4. He did a superb job and I want to thank him and you for the dive experience. I will book more dives with you next April when we come during our spring break.
I dove on Oahu the following Sunday and did not feel comfortable with that company although I knew enough to check my own equipment so that I felt safe under water. I was watching my fellow divers as I did not know their capabilities or whether they performed their own safety check.

I just wanted to thank you for another great diving experience. I dive with MDDC whenever I’m on the island and I’ve never been disappointed.
The last two trips I've needed some minor equipment service and you provided the repairs and I didn’t miss a dive. The staff at MDDC is incredible. I think your priorities are (1) have fun, (2) dive a lot, and (3) run a great business.
This year I did a guided night dive with Paul and two day dives with Michelle. I was very familiar with the dive sites, but the dive masters pointed out interesting critters that I would have missed.
I also took the Nitrox course. I’ve always had a lot of questions about “geezer gas” and the course answered them. I might not use EAN on every dive but it’s nice to have it in the inventory. Next year I plan on taking the rebreather course.
Next weekend it’s back to Puget Sound. Water temp = 47 degrees, vis = 15 ft.

I don't know if you remember me, but you certified me for Open Water Diver about 5 years ago. I'm the one with the Texas accent. Troy, my hubby, just told me we may be returning to Maui around May. Woohoo! I'll be calling you for some diving. I am so excited. Rachel is such a hoot! Y'all are all wonderful and I just can't wait to go diving with y'all again.
A HUGE mahalo nui loa to the team at Maui Dreams! I had such great time with Jim, and an equally exceptional time doing my DPV cert with Matt. You guys are great and I can't say enough about your shop and how nice everyone was there.
You've spurred me on to go for my Advanced Open Water certification, so in March I'm getting my that and throwing a drysuit cert in for the cold California waters. Like the tide I WILL return.

I would like to thank Rachel for all her patience and help with my friend Cheryl, who had a health problem and ended up in the hospital. Rachel contacted us and took us to the hospital. Nate and I are now in the Advanced Open Water class at home, and loving it. Our dives will be next weekend at Catalina Island. Thanks for your AWESOME energy and and love for the sport, it was quite contagious.
Hello and best wishes for the New Year to my friends at Maui Dreams!
We have arrived home safely, and while we have adjusted to Alberta time, I spend some time each day day-dreaming about Maui. Plans are in the works for a return visit.
Charlie and Rachel... I can’t thank you enough for all your help in getting me certified. I am still a bit of a nervous diver, but am working on plans for a West Coast of Canada trip for late winter or early spring. The water temp should be a balmy 40-45 f, but I was cooking in 75 f water, so I am looking forward to trying this out. They tell me that I can expect to find 8 foot long octopus, wolf eels (a face only a mother could love) seal lions and harbour seals. A good friend of mine out here is an instructor and he plans on making the trip with me.
Paul... thanks again for showing me Mackena Landing... really enjoyed the trip... the turtles were incredible! Look forward to diving with you in the future.
Teri... you are the main reason that we came back to the shop. I enjoyed visiting with you so much our first trip and the fact that you remembered my name when we came back that I had to come back and get certified with you folks. Maybe next trip we can go make some bubbles.
Don... had a great time on the boat. Real men are not afraid to hug are they??
With a little luck I may have my own dive partner next trip, Ramona and our son Mitchell are both looking at getting certified. I am really looking forward to that. For now I plan to play in the pool as often as I can and get out to the West Coast hopefully a couple of times this year.

I had such and incredible experience with the folks at Maui Dreams getting my Advanced Open Water certification. They are fun and helpful and can pretty much guarantee a fabulous time in Maui.

Nicole & I had never been SCUBA Diving before and Jay made our first experience a great one!

My husband and I just returned from Maui where we did a two tank shore dive at Ulua Beach with Jay.
We found Maui Dreams Dive Co to be a very professional and safety-minded organization.
Our dives were excellent and we cannot say enough good things about our guide who gave an excellent pre-dive briefing of the local marine life, water, etc. Jay was very patient and helpful with fitting rental gear and assembling gear at the dive site.
We highly recommend your company for new divers through to the advanced and look forward to diving with Maui Dreams in the future.
My son Collin and his girlfriend Nadine sent me pictures of the underwater pumpkin carving contest and it looks so fun. When we come to Maui next November we are definitely going to try scuba diving with you guys. They loved it and have learned a new pass time. Thanks for the wonderful pictures.

My boyfriend, Joscha, and I returned from Maui last night. We did an introductory dive at MDDC and it was the highlight of our trip! We want to thank Charlie for being so great with us!! He is fantastic with beginners. We both felt completely safe and comfortable in the water with him. We loved the beautiful creatures we saw, & appreciate that he showed us pictures of some fish we might see so we'd know what they were. I know the dive is something he has done many times before, but he helped make it so fun and exciting for us. I just registered for the online PADI certification course. I'll never go to another dive shop on Maui and I'll make sure any of my friends who go there come and see you too. I'll be back to do my open water training dives!

The trip to Makena Landing was the perfect dive in the end. Lot's of turtles and even sharks.

Jim your knowledge and obvious care for all creatures of the ocean was really great to see. The PPB course gave us so much more confidence and its so good to know nobody else will (hopefully) ever see me do a 'butt' decent (remember.. what happens under the water stays under the water).
Charlie, your wit and 'grace' in and out of the water was greatly appreciated (as were your Oreos). As 'new divers our confidence has grown immensely thanks to you both and we are now both hooked as far as future diving goes - we will definitely be back to dive with Maui Dreams and whole heartedly recommend you to everyone looking for a great dive experience with the pros!

Maui Dreams is the best dive shop in Maui!
When I was certified four years ago with another shop on Maui, I overheard Stella teach her student more than my instructor from the other place did. I shut up, listened to her and learned a great deal.
The small store is busy because it is the best dive op in Kihei. Any problem for any diver and they were all over it.
They have a reputation for excellence that is well deserved. If only all operators had the customer service ethos like these folks.
Two thumbs up or perhaps a double shaka. They are the bomb. I would reccomend anyone to use this group.

G'day from down under!
Just a quick note to say that it was great hooking up with you guys in Beqa (Fiji) two weeks ago.
My dive group headed back to OZ whilst Melissa, baby Jack and I moved onto Sonasaili resort where we got married and dived the Mamanuka Islands.
I hope that our paths will again cross some day, and if I can be of any assistance with any plans to visit us down here in God's country, please let me know.
Maui Dreams serves as a great dive ambassador to the rest of the world!
My Fiji trip truly changed my life. The dives gave me hope for the survival of our marine life in the Pacific. Teri led the way to honoring our hosts in Beqa Lagoon with honestly sharing our good fortune with the people of the island by making gifts of all of the equipment like flashlights, batteries, books, paper, pencils and one couple of our group actually donated a digital camera to the local village school!
It was a great way to make sure we stayed under the weight limit on the plane on the trip back to the U.S.! Teri really made it easy for us to take an interest in the people behind the scenes at the resort. We gathered great dive memories in and out of the water by extending our dive family to include the Fijian families that made it possible for us to share their beautiful waters!
As Teri has often said, "I could happily spend the rest of my life on a safety stop atop a bommie in Fiji!"
A huge CANADIAN THANK YOU to all at MDDC for the wonderful experience learning how to dive.
Matt, our instructor -- you are awesome!!! We have signed up for a scuba vacation this summer in Cozumel because of you...

Maui Dreams is our first or second stop after the airport every time we visit the islands. If we could figure out how to teleport our luggage to the room, they'd be the first stop. Wonder how much of a surface interval teleportation would require? Hmmmmm.
Hey Crew, just wanted to let you know I had a great time diving the Great Barrier Reef the last two days.
Teri, the course sure paid off. You'd be happy to know I survived my first night dive and drift dive! Hope everyone is doing well.
Finally getting around to say a great big thanks to Paula for persevering through my Advanced Open Water certification. It was great fun, and she is a great instructer.
Not to forget all the great people who work at Maui Dreams and make everyone feel good.
Seemed like everywhere we went we kept runing into this same dive instructor recently!
As Master Scuba Divers and Divemasters, we always tend to observe other instructors in a effort to stay on top of our game. We kept seeing (Paula) and having short converstations... but just in passing and really did not even introduce ourselves. After about a week of these chance encounters, we just come back to our condo from a north shore dive/photo shoot and headed for the "wash up" spot at our condo only to find... you guessed it -- this same instructor... Paula!!
To make a long story short, we finally did the formal intros and it turns out we are neighbors too. To the folks at MDDC, nice to see you have an employee who is professional in and under the water and on and OFF the clock. She has convinced us to move our needs from Brand X dive shop to MDDC.

Thank you for a great dive! My friend, Randy and I dove with Jim last Saturday and had a great experience. Jim did an excellent pre-dive prep so we knew what we would see and just where we were going. Saw incredible sights... frog fish, cleaner shrimp, turtles galore, eels (even a pair mating), you name it, we most likely saw it.
Jim is an excellent guide and very attuned to his group (very large group of two.) I am back on the mainland and have raved about Maui Dreams Dive Co. to everyone who will stand still. I am encouraging a fellow worker who has snorkeled but never dove to do an introductory dive.
Can't say enough. Jim was very complimentary of the owners, so next year when I am back in the island, I hope to meet the owners and dive with Jim again. I dove a total of eight dives and the two with Jim were undoubtedly the best.
Again, thanks. I counting down the days until I am back in Maui.

We just got back from Maui – HI and had the most wonderful dive adventure with Maui Dreams Dive Co.
From the very beginning when we made the reservation, Don was very informative of what need to prepare. Aron, our Master Scuba Dive Trainer, was very professional, knowledgeable, and patient. Aron was very attentive and thorough during the dive safety educational session then he guided us to a pristine dive where we got to see many beautiful fishes, corals and sea turtles. Additionally, we greatly appreciate Aron’s respect to the flora and fauna during the dive to always make sure that we do not ruin the coral and/or reef.
And definitely many special thanks to Charlie; our Divemaster; and his wife Janet who documented our wonderful diving adventure. Charlie and Janet with their professional underwater digital cameras took great–great pictures of us. They took sharp high resolution pictures from begin to end and delivered us a story line slideshow presentation CD. Charlie’s and Janet’s skill, local knowledge, friendliness and personal touch made the experience fun and relaxing!
Needless to say, we had a fabulous time from start to finish. We highly recommend Maui Dreams Dive Co to anyone interested in a first-class dive adventure. We are looking forward to a return trip just as soon as our schedules (and $ :)) permit.

I want you all to know what a pleasant experience it has been getting certification through you. My "buddy" Ron and I took the three day Open Water PADI certification recently from Brett Hubert.
First, I was impressed with the extensiveness of PADI training. I was certified over 20 years ago through PADI, but this training was much more rigorous and I believe will make me a safer diver.
I can't say enough about Brett as an instructor and please feel free to use this letter if anyone wants a recommendation for an instructor. Brett was very thorough and explained things very clearly. He was able to steady me and with confidence guide me through some difficult and panicky moments underwater. I appreciated his firm yet supportive manner.
I also enjoyed the people I met in the shop and was pleased at how helpful everyone was. The store has a feeling of a kind of a dive family and I felt welcomed. Ron and I both look forward to continuing diving as well as more certifications.
Thank you for your good training and welcoming atmosphere, I'm sure we'll see you soon.
Looking at the time you are all 30-40 feet under in such a pristine world of frog fish, turtles, and other divers. We had a great time a few weeks ago. The most dives we have made in one week. We wear our MDDC shirts all the time. Rachel and Barrett, thank you for Ulua and Milepost 14 dives. We still dream of Maui and will be back soon. Mahalo and Aloha lives!!!

I can't express my gratitude to Teri for such an awesome Intro dive while I was on Maui for Spring Break...I fully intend to return to Maui Dreams in August to get my Open Water Certification. :) *and a big thanks to Don and Jim for putting up with me in the shop while my aunt was in her classes and out on the dives, I had a lot of fun talking to Jim and Don...it was 31 flavours of greatness and supreme wootage! Please let Jim know that a former intro-dive student, Matt Sakiyama, completed his PADI certification at Dolphin Dive in Arcadia, CA last week.
Matt's 3 dives were completed off Catalina Island on one of the coldest days of the year in so. Cal. where the water temp was at least 20 degrees lower than off Wailea. We recalled Jim's thorough instruction, patience, and "fun" attitude. We were challenged to find equal instruction here at home. We're looking forward to be back in Kihei/Wailea soon and book a guided tour through Maui Dreams. The smaller, yet full-service dive shop like Maui Dreams makes the difference in receiving a better dive experience. THANK YOU! and please thank Jim.

Just thought I would throw some more words of praise out there for your fine store and awesome staff!
I originally visited your store in September of 2002 during my honeymoon. I discovered that your place was one of the few dive stores that made me feel at home and actually looked like a dive store.
Unfortunately I never got the chance to go on any formal scheduled shop dives, but that didn't stop Barrett from jumping in and volunteering a whole weekend to take me out diving. I had a blast! I can't thank him and Tom enough for everything they did for me when I was there.
I still rave about your shop and staff to anyone who will listen to me. It's always fun to see my fellow local divers wearing your t-shirts too.
Barrett - I never did send you your CD of pictures - but they're all on-line - even yours that you gave me copies of.

Rachel, the scooter dive was great. Ed Robinson boat dive you recommended was excellent. They were very informative on the dives and the pace was relaxing. I\'ve spent 40 yrs diving and these dive guides made all the new divers feel relaxed with the slow pace to see the wonders of the liquid world. Thank you for a great time. E-mail me any divers that want to see the wonders of the cold but beautiful waters of washington state. The vis isn\'t like Maui but 30-50 ft is common. Lots of sea life to view.
I really enjoyed taking the dive certification class with my sons Chris and Kyle. I hope we can return to Maui soon for some night dives and a scooter dive. Tell Don that I sent the dive trip report and some photos to your email. Thanks for a great time in Maui!

My husband and I got our open water certification this last March with Don, and was so incredibly grateful for his patience and fun-loving attitude. We had such a great time with you Don! After surviving Hurricane Wilma when we went scuba diving in Cozumel in October, we are definitely ready for the calm, beautiful waters of Maui when we come back in March '06.

A BIG WARM MAHALO TO DON, RACHAEL, BARRETT, SHARON,TERRY, AARON, TOM, CHARLIE AND JIM for the most fun I have had underwater! :):) The Underwater Pumpkin Carving Contest was just that.Too much fun! I didn't know I could laugh underwater without drowning myself.HAHA! The creativity, wit, ideas and degigns were something to write home about,of which I already have! The awards celebration was a hoot and the prizes most generous.The never ending smile on both Don and Rachaels face just shows us how much they enjoy their work as well as all their friends. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for making diving more than fun!!!!! It is an adventure!

I have finally settled myself in after my glorious trip. I just wanted to fully let you know about my best time there, scuba diving with you. I saw Mark at the airport when I left and told him how greatful I was that he sent me to you. I couldn't of had a better teacher for open water than you were. Believe me, I will be back, and will only be coming straight to your shop. Only downfall, my cheap camera didn't take good pics, all were quite blurry. If you could send me any pics that you may have from our dives, I would be so greatful! Anyway, thanks so much for your awesome training, and trust me, I will be back next summer!!!
Charlie, we had a great time on our dive with you. After diving with the company in Kauai we realized how much you spoiled us. Their equipment was old and didn't fit right, their regulators were very difficult to breath with and they were not the friendliest bunch. We really appreciate your attention to detail, great equipment and great staff. Thanks so much for making our 1st dive a pleasant experience. Take care and thanks for the great dives!
A great big huge thanks to the Maui Dreams diving staff! We had such a good time and found the equipment (very important) to be of good quality unlike the "other" dive shop we tried while on Maui. If it wasn't for Barrett, I would not have made it through the 1st dive. He was great to dive with and made me feel very comfortable after an initial nervous start. If you dive with Barrett, be ready to take his mischief though! Seriously, we are glad to have had the experience and both Barrett and Tom were terrific. We'll be return customers for sure and want to do our certification dives with Maui Dreams because of the good experience we had. Thanks again and we'll see you soon! Yes Barrett...that is a threat :o)

Mahalo nui loa to instructors Jim and Barrett for an awesome day of diving. With their help, I made my first dives in 8 years, and felt right at home. I loved the "Turtle Cleaning Station" and enjoyed all the undersea critters that were pointed out. The wonderful day that I spent with these two experienced, knowledgeable, and friendly dive guides was the highlight of my Maui trip. I strongly recommend Maui Dreams to diving aficionados one and all.

I just wanted to say thanks for making my trip to Maui PERFECT!! I am so happy to have completed my Open Water certification with you guys--the training was great and it's obvious that you really LOVE to dive and it shows (the dolphins, eagle ray and tons of turtles helped of course!) I'm thinking of you--still have my watch set to Maui time and am considering changing my name to Ulua. Dave had a great time too and we're trying to steal away to Bonaire sometime this fall to finally dive together!
Hope to see you all again! In the meantime, I'm passing along your name to the instructors here so that they can send more Hawaii-bound students your way!!

Master Instructor Teri and newly certified Divemaster Aaron were awesome! I enjoyed our dives together and earned my Advanced Open Water Certification.
That last dive at Makena Landing was absolutely amazing...though it was a bit surgy, it gave me a taste of drift diving, and we even saw sharks and turtles!
I found Maui Dreams through Maui Revealed as well as lots of scuba boards online. I can't wait to return to dive with you all again!
p.s. I just got my AOW card with my lei photo...great!
I really enjoyed visiting your shop for my rental gear last May when I was on the island -- it felt very much like home and the staff were warm and welcoming.

Greetings all from the chilly state of Idaho.
Just a special thanks to Rachel and Jim for taking some time to teach the spuds from Idaho to dive. We are both enrolled in the advance dive class in June water temp (47) Wetsuits here are 7 mil we found out and do a pretty good job....lots different than Ulua Beach..If you guys get a chance could you email some of the pictures of Rita and I on that day?

Louise and I are back in Calgary and sadly, our Maui vacation is over. We had a great time and one of the highlights was the dive that you lead from Ulua Beach last Wednesday.
I just want to say thanks for making my first "real" dive such a success (I couldn't really count my first open water dives in a 47ºF
lake in Canada. It was just too cold!).
I"m sending along an old Canadian sea chanty called "Barrett's Privateers".

Instructor Jim and student Mark took my son Matt Sakiyama for a 2 tank intro instruction and dive on Thursday, April 14. It was the highlight of Matt's trip to Maui.
I was particularly pleased with the clear and interesting instruction, the patience of Jim and others at the shop, and professional yet fun experiences I witnessed my son having with your personnel.
We found your shop through Maui Revealed and by word of mouth. Several folks suggested the long drive to Kihei was worth the time, and they were all correct.
Please extend my thanks, and we hope to be back within 6 months and perhaps have met "take the course for certification."
