Dive in Bonaire!

Pictures from diving in Bonaire!

When we think about Bonaire, the phrase "a diver's paradise" comes immediately to mind.  Not only does it seem like Bonaire exists on this planet mainly for the pleasure of divers, but their license plates even say it!

The diving in Bonaire is easily accessible, abundant, and best of all, the entire island nation is a marine reserve!  We store our gear in lockers along the ocean and we dive when we please ...just a few short steps away!  It really does not get any easier than this.  Aside from the diving in Bonaire, visitors will be captivated by the salt mines, wandering donkeys and large iguanas, and gorgeous pink flamingos.  The brightly painted houses often landscaped with cactus "fences" are also a unique sight to U.S. visitors.

Travelers must arrange for their own air travel.

Travelers must also pay $32 per person departure tax and $25 per diver Marine Park fee (these must be paid in Bonaire)

Upgrade to 2-tank morning boat dives for an additional $92 per person for the entire week. But you know what, the shore diving is so easy and abundant that none of us even used all of our boat dives last year!

For an additional $166 a week, you can get a 4-door rental truck "dive mobile" - perfect for diving.  These trucks seat four, so when we leave to sight-see or do shore dives away from our hotel, we can carpool.  For divers who wish to share a vehicle, this would make the cost just $83 per couple for transportation for the week. Taxes not included in this price -- they are paid in Bonaire: 5% sales tax and $3.50 per day car tax. Insurance is $11 per day (optional).

As usual, trip insurance is recommended!
