Love sharks? Scared of sharks? Or do you just want to know more about them? This course explores why they are vulnerable, the importance of a healthy shark population, managing threats and how to take action to protect them.

Enroll in this AWARE Shark Conservation Specialty course and discover the value of sharks to marine ecosystems and economies. You'll learn more about the causes of declining shark populations and the actions you can take to become a knowledgeable and passionate shark defender. By being informed, you can dispel misconceptions and act to protect sharks. Sharks need you!

Times and Duration

• Meet at the shop at 7:00 a.m.
• Class duration is approximately 6 hours
• Contact us if you're looking for a later start or for some afternoon dives.

What to Expect

Prior to the course, divers must read the AWARE Shark Conservation Study Guide and complete the knowledge reviews at the end. Print and bring your knowledge reviews to class with you.

On the morning of your dives, we'll meet at the shop, get geared up and head out to the dive site. Divers do need to provide their own transportation to and from the shop and dive sites. After two dives, we'll meet back at the shop to debrief, log dives, and wrap things up for the day.

This course does count towards the Master Scuba Diver rating.
